The Kaishan KG420B is a high-performance, split-type DTH drilling rig designed for the heavy-duty demands of quarrying and mining operations. This model is a significant upgrade in the KG420 series, specifically optimized for compliance with diesel emission standards while boosting overall mechanical power. The Yuchai YC4DK80-T302 engine delivers a solid 58KW, providing the foundation for the rig’s enhanced rotary torque and speed. Shaanxi Kaishan has engineered this rig to handle hole diameters from 90mm up to 130mm, making it one of the most versatile rigs in its class.

A standout mechanical feature of the KG420B is the folding frame track combined with track leveling (±10°). This allows the rig to maintain a low center of gravity and excellent traction even when climbing 30-degree slopes. The use of a plunger walking motor ensures high-torque propulsion, while the 4-wheel drive system provides the necessary grip for rough quarry floors. The thickened profile housing and integrated lifting rings add a layer of industrial-grade durability and transportability.

Drilling performance has been significantly improved through the use of a larger lifting cylinder and a reinforced leaf chain. These upgrades translate to a 25KN lifting force and a feed stroke of 3780mm, ensuring reliable hammer handling and rod management. With a maximum rotary torque of 2000N·m and speeds up to 140rpm, the KG420B can efficiently power through hard rock (f=6-20) using either 3″ or 4″ hammers.

The rig’s boom and beam system offers exceptional flexibility. With a total beam tilt of 185° and a swing range of 145°, operators can reach complex drilling positions with ease. The 900mm compensation feature ensures that the guide rail remains in firm contact with the ground, reducing vibration and improving hole accuracy. Horizontal holes can be drilled at heights ranging from 350mm to 2750mm.
