How to choose an air compressor

 Air compressor is an important production power supply equipment, scientific selection is very important for users. This issue introduces six precautions for air compressor selection, which is scientific and energy-saving, and provides strong power for production.

1. The selection of the air volume of the air compressor should match the required displacement, leaving at least 10% margin. If the main engine is far away from the air compressor, or the budget for adding new pneumatic tools in the near future is small, the margin can be increased to 20%. If the air consumption is large and the displacement of the air compressor is small, the pneumatic tool cannot be driven. If the air consumption is small and the displacement is large, the number of loading and unloading of the air compressor will be increased, or the long-term low-frequency operation of the air compressor will cause waste of energy.

 

2. Consider energy efficiency and specific power. The energy efficiency level of the air compressor is evaluated by the specific power value, that is, the power of the air compressor/the air output of the air compressor.

First-class energy efficiency: the product has reached the international advanced level, the most energy-saving, and the lowest energy consumption;

Secondary energy efficiency: relatively energy-saving;

Level 3 Energy Efficiency: Average energy efficiency in our market.

 

3. Consider the occasions and conditions of gas use. Air coolers with good ventilation conditions and installation space are more suitable; when the gas consumption is large and the water quality is better, water coolers are more suitable.

 

4. Consider the quality of the compressed air. The general standard for compressed air quality and purity is GB/T13277.1-2008, and the international standard IS08573-1:2010 is commonly used for oil-free machines. The compressed air produced by the oil-injected screw air compressor contains micro-oil particles, water and fine dust particles. Compressed air is purified by post-processing such as air storage tanks, cold dryers, and precision filters. In some occasions with high air quality requirements, a suction dryer can be configured for further filtration. The compressed air of the oil-free air compressor can achieve very high air quality. The compressed air produced by Baode oil-free series all meet the CLASS 0 standard of ISO 8573 standard. The quality of compressed air required depends on the product being produced, the production equipment and the needs of the pneumatic tools. Compressed air is not up to standard. If it is lighter, it will lead to a decrease in the quality of the product, and if it is heavier, it will damage the production equipment, but it does not mean that the higher the purity, the better. One is the increase in equipment procurement costs, and the other is the increase in power waste.

 

5. Consider the safety of air compressor operation. An air compressor is a machine that works under pressure.  Gas storage tanks of more than 1 cubic meter belong to special production equipment, and their operation safety should be given top priority. When users choose an air compressor, they must check the production qualification of the air compressor manufacturer to ensure the quality of the air compressor.

 

6. Considering the maintenance of the manufacturer’s after-sales service during the warranty period, the manufacturer or service provider is directly responsible, but there are still certain unknown factors in the use process. When the air compressor breaks down, whether the after-sales service is timely and whether the maintenance level is professional are issues that users must care about.
